Last November, the Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) launched its annual mural contest for Runaway and Homeless Youth Program grantees. For six years, the contest has encouraged agencies to work with young people to share their stories in creative and engaging ways.
FYSB received nine entries this year, each including a mural sketch and description of the design's meaning. A judging panel of FYSB staff members and youth from last year's winning agency, Child and Family Charities – Gateway Division, rated each entry based on creativity, youth input, and uniqueness.
The winner and two finalists will receive gift cards from Home Depot to help them bring their murals to life. Here, we present the winning designs, along with all of the wonderful entries received.
