Looking Back at the 2015 Runaway and Homeless Youth Grantee Conference

The color guard.
The 2015 conference began with the presentation of colors by the Young Marines Color Guard, Orleans Parish Chapter. Through that program, young men and women learn about leadership, discipline, and teamwork by working with a group of adult volunteers.

This November, grantees of the Family and Youth Services Bureau's Runaway and Homeless Youth Program gathered in New Orleans to share best practices and emerging research among their peers. Participants shared common experiences running basic center, transitional living, maternity group home, and street outreach programs for young people in need of safe, stable housing. They also heard from federal leaders, who highlighted the need for continued collaboration and data-sharing as we advance toward our goal of ending youth homelessness in 2020.

In this slideshow, we share some of the highlights from the 2015 event.
