We’ve all seen effective youth workers in action. They’re able to make meaningful connections and relate to young people in ways that make them feel understood and valued. What is it that makes these youth workers so successful?

In our new video series, we asked youth workers for the answer. Together, they make a powerful argument for selflessness, open-mindedness and other personal qualities that can help youth workers make a difference in the lives of young people in their programs.

In the latest video, Amber Klaver from the Wichita Children's Home in Wichita, KS, says youth workers need to be good listeners, nonjudgmental, and willing to support young people in all their interests.
