#NCFYChat: “Building Healthy Relationships: Collaborating on Teen Dating Violence and Pregnancy Prevention”

Twitter bird.

Please join us for a Twitter chat on Thursday, February 27, about the ways advocates for teen health can collaborate to prevent dating violence and adolescent pregnancy. Co-hosted by Break the Cycle, the chat will bring together sexual health educators and dating violence prevention specialists.

One in three U.S. teens suffers physical, sexual, emotional or verbal abuse from an intimate partner. Abusive dating relationships can lead to teen pregnancy through tactics like forced sex, reproductive coercion and birth control sabotage.

The Family and Youth Services Bureau promotes healthy adolescent development in several ways. FYSB’s Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Programs make education on sexual health and healthy relationships available to teens across the country. FYSB’s Family Violence Prevention and Services Division works to prevent family violence of all kinds and provide a coordinated health care and social service response to survivors of intimate partner violence of all ages.
