#NCFYchat: 'PREP Teens for the Future: A Conversation About Teen Pregnancy and Sexual Health,' May 28 at 2 p.m. EDT

Healthy smiling teens.

Please join us for a Twitter chat on preparing teens for healthy adulthoods by promoting sexual health. The Twitter chat is part of FYSB’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month campaign.

We’ll be talking to Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential in Atlanta, Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma and Child & Family Resources in Arizona, agencies that help “PREP Teens for the Future.”

Our panelists are grantees of the Family and Youth Services Bureau’s Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program. FYSB’s grant programs aim to help young people face difficult decisions related to sex and relationships through comprehensive sex education, adulthood preparation and abstinence education programming.

In particular, FYSB’s teen pregnancy prevention programs target youth who at increased risk for teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including young people who are:

  • Homeless
  • In foster care
  • Living in rural areas or areas with high teen birth rates
  • From minority groups (including sexual minorities)

During the Twitter chat, we’ll ask panelists about their experience in their communities and what skills contribute to healthy adulthoods. We’ll also encourage participants to ask questions and share their thoughts on this issue.
