Enter the 2015 FYSB Mural Contest--and Showcase Young People's Creative Sides

A halfway painted wall mural.

The Family & Youth Services Bureau is pleased to announce the five-year anniversary of its Runaway and Homeless Youth Mural Contest! For the past four years, we've asked grantees of FYSB's Runaway and Homeless Youth programs to engage young people in this creative opportunity to tell their stories. Winning agencies receive a gift card to purchase supplies needed to bring their murals to life.

As in years past, entries will be judged based on the meaningfulness and creativity of the design and the extent to which Positive Youth Development was used in the process. Submissions will be judged by a panel of FYSB staff and young people from last year's winning organization, the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Youth Center on Highland.

Check out our slideshow of 2014 mural submissions to get the creative juices flowing. Then contact Joelle Ruben, community manager at the National Clearinghouse on Families & Youth, to receive an application. Materials are due by 5 p.m. Eastern on Friday, January 30, 2015.

Good luck!
