The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has proposed the first holistic revision and complete reorganization of the Head Start Program Performance Standards since they were originally published in 1975. If you work with young parents whose children qualify for Head Start, you might be interested in reading the Notice of Proposed Rule Making in the Federal Register. The notice includes the proposed program performance standards and contextualizes the changes.
If you have feedback, you can comment on the proposed rules and help influence the final Head Start Program Performance Standards. The Office of Head Start will take public comments into consideration as it makes decisions for a final rule.
