Pets are often the impetus batterers use to keep victims in abusive relationships, but they can also play an important role in the healing process for those who leave. On August 27, we joined the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence to host a Twitter chat about supporting domestic violence survivors and their pets. Participants shared how they are expanding resources for pet owners and why this topic is so important to many.
