ACF Request Comment On Rule-Making for Independent Living Database
The Administration for Children and Families has published a notice of proposed rule-making in the July 14 Federal Register. This proposed regulation will implement the data collection provisions in the John H. Chafee Foster Care Independence Program, enacted in 1999. The law requires ACF to develop a data collection system to track the independent living services States provide to youth and to develop outcome measures that may be used to assess States’ performance in operating their independent living programs. The comment period will end on September 12, 2006.
Interested persons are invited to submit comments regarding this proposed rule to Kathleen McHugh, Director, Division of Policy, Children's Bureau, Administration on Children, Youth and Families, Administration for Children and Families, 1250 Maryland Avenue, SW, 8th Floor, Washington, DC 20024. Comments can also be transmitted via e-mail or the Internet. Download an electronic version of the rule here.
