Featured Resources of the Month
NCFY recommends the following resources for organizations and individuals working on behalf of families and youth. You may wish to utilize the information below to learn about new and improved ways to positively impact youth and families in your community.
Newly Redesigned Afterschool.gov Web Site Up and Running!
www.Afterschool.gov
Afterschool.gov is a one-stop Web site connecting the public, and particularly afterschool providers, to federal resources that support children and youth during out-of-school time. A great range of resources is included on Afterschool.gov, including issues that face America's youth, and information about starting and operating an afterschool program. Afterschool.gov includes resources from a variety of federal agencies, including a searchable database of federal funding sources. While afterschool resources are spread across the Federal government (including HHS, ED, Justice, and others), Afterschool.gov provides a single location for the public to access this information.
Take The Lead! – Youth Leadership Brochure (View PDF)
Take the Lead: Inspirational Young People Tell Their Stories highlights the achievements of young people—some who have served as mentors, others who have turned their lives around, and all who have proven to be leaders in their respective communities. It's the latest publication from the Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB), produced by FYSB's free information service, the National Clearinghouse on Families & Youth.
The Youth Initiatives Update comprises links to Web sites with information on programs, organizations, resources, and publications relevant to children, youth, and family issues. Inclusion of this information does not imply endorsement by the Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), or the National Clearinghouse on Families & Youth (NCFY). Moreover, the points of view or opinions expressed on these Web sites do not necessarily represent the official position, policies, or views of FYSB, HHS, or NCFY.
