Resource Spotlight

Two Young People Lead Communities to Brighter Futures
Positive Youth Development empowers young people to find their passions and reach their full potential. Programs funded by the Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) give these empowered youth opportunities to become leaders in their communities. In “Leading the Way” — the latest podcast episode from the National Clearinghouse on Families and Youth (NCFY) — two young people talk about how youth leadership has challenged and inspired them.

Addressing the Complexities of Family and Relationship Violence
On the street, runaway and homeless youth are more likely to be mistreated and less likely to have the support they need to break the cycle. You can help. Drawing on the experiences of Family and Youth Services Bureau grantees, the latest issue of the ExchangeAddressing the Complexities of Family and Relationship Violence — explores the complexities of relationship violence among runaway and homeless youth and passes on tips for how programs can educate young people to avoid abuse.

National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE)
NCHE provides resources and information for communities seeking to remove or overcome educational barriers and to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for young people experiencing homelessness. Funded by the Department of Education, the Center also supports educators and service providers through trainings and awareness materials.
